To our excitement and surprise, our forecast today indicated thunder – lots of thunder. So we’re sitting in the kitchen feeding the boys and all of a sudden it begins. Rolling thunders, pause, boys shrieking, another one, boys’ eye wide open, pause, repeat.
They were initially a little scared, one could tell, but we’ve been using the “scared” sign to acknowledge and indicate that it’s okay to be scared. However, after the fifth thunder, I decided it was time to improve our vocabulary and learn the sign for “thunder”(there’s this pretty neat website called Signing Savvy where you can search signs by word and there are a lot available). So Jonas and I learned it and starting signing it every time we’d hear a thunder. Adonis was pretty quick to pick it up and shortly after he and Apollo were signing it too.
Lesson learned: meal times can be educational.
